MAGA Upset Over Comedy Sketch Mocking Familiar ‘Conservative’ Woman
Black comedian Drew Desbordes, also known as “Druski,” faced backlash from conservatives this week after donning white makeup to parody “conservative women” in a sketch that appeared to target Erika Kirk of Turning Point USA.
Clay Travis, the founder of OutKick, criticized Druski for mocking Kirk in a video, especially since her husband was tragically assassinated in September.
Druski, 31, previously courted controversy last year with a video where he portrayed a white NASCAR fan proud to be American.
In his latest video titled “How Conservative Women in America Act,” Druski transforms into a white woman with a blonde wig and heavy makeup, resembling Kirk. The video showcases his character dancing on stage, holding press conferences, driving while blasting Katy Perry, and making controversial statements about protecting white men in America.
While the sketch garnered millions of views and laughs from many viewers, it drew ire from some MAGA-aligned conservatives. Senator Ted Cruz branded Druski’s act as “beneath contempt,” while others like Jon Root and Joe Concha condemned the comedian.
On the other hand, conservative commentator Candace Owens found humor in Druski’s performance on a recent episode of her show, expressing how the act resonated with a wide audience irrespective of political affiliations.
