Comedian and ‘Blue Bloods’ Actor Was 42
Alex Duong, Stand-Up Comedian and TV Actor, Passes Away at 42
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alex Duong, a talented stand-up comedian and TV actor known for his role on the CBS drama “Blue Bloods.” Alex, aged 42, succumbed to his battle with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of soft tissue cancer that affected his sight. His passing occurred on Sunday in a Los Angeles hospital.
The news of Alex’s death was shared through a GoFundMe page that was initially set up in February 2025 to assist the actor with his medical expenses. An update on the page expressed the deep sorrow felt by his loved ones and thanked everyone for their support during this challenging time.
In addition to his role on “Blue Bloods,” Alex Duong had a successful career with appearances on TV shows like “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Mad TV,” “Dexter,” and “The Young and the Restless.” He also showcased his talent in films such as “Formosa Betrayed” and “Sideways for Attention.”
Last year, a comedy benefit show titled “The Alex Duong Has Cancer In His Eye Comedy Benefit Show” was held at the Largo in Los Angeles, featuring fellow comedians who came together to support Alex during his battle.
Reflecting on the support he received from his fellow comedians, Alex once shared with the LA Times, “Comedians always have each other’s backs when times are tough. It’s a beautiful thing to see in this world; it really is.”
