Anthony Norman Reveals What the Show Left Out
When can you start?” So I came in for orientation, and then I was hired. So it was actually a pretty quick process once I got the ball rolling.
Did you have any suspicions that something was off during your time at Rockin’ Grandmas?
There were a few little things that made me think, “Hmm, this is a little weird.” Like, I’d never heard of Rockin’ Grandmas before. But the whole time, I was just rolling with the punches. I was like, “Hey, it’s a job. It’s a gig. I’m here to do what I can.” But then there were a few moments where I was like, “This is kind of off. Why are we doing this? Why is this happening?” But I just shrugged it off and kept going.
What was your reaction when the truth was finally revealed to you?
I was in shock. I was like, “What? This is a show?” I couldn’t believe it. My whole world just got turned upside down. It was wild. It was insane. But then, it was like a breath of fresh air, like, “Oh, thank God. I’m not actually the leader of this company.” It was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions.
What was the most memorable moment for you during the filming of “Company Retreat”?
The most memorable moment for me was probably when I had to step up and take on the leadership role. It was challenging, but it was also rewarding. I never thought I would be in that position, and I surprised myself with how well I handled it. It was a moment of growth for me, both personally and professionally.
What’s next for you after this experience?
After this experience, I’ve gained a newfound confidence in myself and my abilities. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me. I’m open to new opportunities and challenges, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and learn in whatever comes my way. Who knows, maybe you’ll see me in another reality show in the future!
We all sang “Happy Birthday” and then we all went to bed. The next day, we had a seminar and Warren was like, “I had a weird dream last night that we were all in a cult.” And Doug says, “That’s funny, because last night I had a dream that we were all in a cult too.” And I was like, “Haha, that’s crazy.” Looking back, that was probably the only moment that I should have been like, “This is weird.” But I didn’t really think too much of it at the time.
Overall, the experience was definitely one for the books. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected twists and turns. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it and to have made some lasting friendships along the way. I look forward to seeing how everything unfolds on screen and sharing this unique experience with the world. I was tasked with going to the store to pick up supplies, not knowing if it was actually Doug’s birthday or not. However, I decided to grab a big chocolate cupcake with a candle for him, assuming it was his special day. Later on, when I mentioned the cupcake to Doug, he casually mentioned that he had received one as well. This caught me off guard as I had only bought one cupcake. It seemed like a slip-up on his part, but at the time, I brushed it off as a misunderstanding.
One of the most impactful moments for me in the finale was when I stopped Doug from signing a deal by appealing to him “father to father”. The show doesn’t delve much into my personal life or the fact that I have a child, but off-camera, I often shared stories about my 3-year-old son with the cast. He is my world, and it’s hard for me not to talk about him.
As for keeping in touch with the actors since filming wrapped up, I have remained in contact with all of them. Despite the distance between us, we make an effort to stay connected through social media and occasional gatherings. In fact, we had a dinner party on the last day of filming to celebrate our time together.
At the premiere, I had the chance to meet Ronald Gladden from Season 1. While I didn’t initially recognize him, we did have a few phone conversations after the event. We even met up for a drink before I left town, where we discussed our respective journeys and what the future may hold for me.
Reflecting on my time at the retreat and being part of the show, I am grateful for the experience. Being a part of something so positive and uplifting has been fulfilling. As someone who always enjoyed pulling pranks and making jokes, being on the receiving end of such entertainment was a dream come true.
In terms of future opportunities in TV, I am open to whatever comes my way. While I never envisioned myself as an actor, I am willing to explore new possibilities and take on roles that resonate with me. Overall, I am proud to have been a part of this unique and positive experience.
