NYC woman ID’d as mom of 2 after being struck and killed by ambulance in Brooklyn
A tragic incident occurred in Midwood, Brooklyn, where a nurse named Cherry Cayetano Sobel, 44, was fatally struck by an ambulance belonging to Maimonides Medical Center. The unfortunate incident took place as the ambulance was making a left turn from Avenue O onto Ocean Avenue. Shockingly, the driver of the ambulance did not stop after hitting Cayetano Sobel.
Cayetano Sobel, who resided just a mile and a half from the location of the accident, was immediately transported to Maimonides Medical Center but sadly could not be saved. Detectives working on the case believe that the driver may not have been aware that they had hit someone.
Following the tragic event, the hospital decided to suspend the ambulance crew pending the outcome of the investigation. A statement released by the hospital expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to the victim’s family and friends. Despite the gravity of the situation, no immediate criminal charges were filed.
