Pixel Phone Battery Drain Bug Introduced With March Update

Google Pixel users have been facing a frustrating issue with their devices ever since the March update. Reports have been flooding in from users of various models such as the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10, and Pixel 7 Pro, all experiencing rapid battery drain.

The culprit behind this problem seems to be a bug introduced in the March update that prevents some Pixel CPUs from entering Deep Doze mode. This mode is crucial for conserving battery life by putting the phone into an energy-efficient idle state, reducing background app activity and overall performance until needed.

According to a Redditor who identified the issue, affected Pixel phones are stuck in a continuous loop process that triggers four times per second. This constant activity drains the battery quickly, making it challenging for users to get through a full day without needing to recharge.

While the issue has been identified, Google has yet to release a fix for it. The company acknowledged the problem on April 26th but has not provided a solution as of now. Users are encouraged to support the defect request on Google’s Issue Tracker to draw attention to the issue and hopefully expedite a resolution.

Despite the release of the April Pixel update, which aimed to address various bugs, the battery drain issue remains unresolved. It is unclear when a fix will be available, but users are hopeful that it will be addressed in the upcoming May Pixel update.

In the meantime, users are advised to keep an eye on Google’s Issue Tracker for any updates on the situation. Stay tuned for further developments on this ongoing issue affecting Pixel devices.
