Oppo Pad mini: Hands-on Impressions
The Oppo launch event in China this week showcased a range of new devices, with the Find X9 Ultra stealing the spotlight. Among the new products unveiled was the Oppo Pad mini, a compact tablet that caught the attention of many attendees.
At the event in Chengdu, I had the opportunity to get a hands-on look at the Pad mini. Despite only spending a short time with the device, it made a lasting impression on me.
As a reviewer of Android tablets, I often find them to be too bulky and heavy for everyday use. The Oppo Pad mini, however, weighs just 279g and measures 5.4mm thin, making it incredibly portable and convenient for on-the-go use.
The premium design of the Pad mini is evident in its metal unibody construction, available in Monet Purple, Space Grey, and Mint Green. The optional stylus adds functionality and convenience to the tablet.
One of the standout features of the Pad mini is its 8.8-inch AMOLED display with a narrow bezel, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate, 1600 nit peak brightness, and 344 ppi pixel density. The screen quality is truly impressive and offers a stunning viewing experience.
Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and equipped with an 8000mAh battery and 67W wired charging, the Pad mini delivers solid performance and long-lasting battery life.
While the Pad mini comes with a price tag of CNY 3,699 (around £400/$540), it may only be available in China, disappointing fans in other regions. For those in the UK, the Oppo Pad 5 or other compact tablets from brands like Xiaomi may be worth considering.
Overall, the Oppo Pad mini stands out as a sleek and powerful compact tablet option, offering premium features and portability for users on the move.
