2 strangers busted for fatally stabbing man, wounding another in bloody brawl outside NYC bar: cops
Two individuals have been taken into custody for their alleged involvement in a fatal stabbing incident outside a bar in Brooklyn. The violent altercation resulted in the death of Amare Simmons, 26, and left another individual wounded. Darrin Webster, a 29-year-old homeless man, has been charged with murder, attempted assault, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the stabbing. Randolph Robertson, 38, from Queens, faces charges of assault, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and menacing in relation to the attack.
The incident took place in front of Marco’s on Broadway near Lawton Street in Bushwick. Simmons sustained a stab wound to the stomach and slashes on his face, leading to his death at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. Another victim, a 28-year-old man, suffered a slash on his left arm but is in stable condition after receiving medical attention at the same hospital.
Authorities have revealed that both suspects had no prior connection to Simmons, and the violence erupted from a dispute. However, the exact cause of the confrontation is still under investigation. Simmons, who resided in a men’s shelter in Manhattan, tragically lost his life in the altercation.
Webster and Robertson are scheduled for arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court. The authorities continue to delve into the circumstances surrounding the deadly brawl that claimed the life of Amare Simmons and left another individual injured.
