RTD tea maker The Ryl Company raises more funding

The Ryl Company, a renowned maker of ready-to-drink iced tea, has recently secured a significant amount of funding totaling $20 million. This funding was raised through a Series C equity round, led by the well-known investment firm Purchase Capital. The New Jersey-based company, known for its popular RTD tea brand Ryl Tea, has expressed that this capital infusion will support its upcoming phase of growth.

The company plans to utilize the funds for various initiatives, including expanding its presence in retail and direct store delivery (DSD) channels. Additionally, the company aims to enhance its innovation pipeline and invest in operational, sales, and brand teams to further strengthen its market position.

Nicholas J. Singer, the founder and managing partner of Purchase Capital, expressed his confidence in the company’s potential within the modern tea industry, stating that Ryl is exceptionally well-positioned to lead in this sector.

This recent funding round follows a successful Series B raise last year, where The Ryl Co. secured $15 million to support the nationwide expansion of its Ryl Tea brand. With this new capital injection, the company’s total raised funds to date amount to $30 million.

In a strategic move earlier this year, The Ryl Company formed a licensing partnership with The Hershey Company to introduce a range of sugar-free Jolly Rancher-flavored Ryl iced teas. This collaboration signifies the company’s commitment to offering innovative and appealing beverage options to consumers.

Leigh Feuerstein, the co-chairman of The Ryl Company, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s future prospects, highlighting the team’s efforts in building strong relationships with retailers, expanding the DSD network, and collaborating with key partners like The Hershey Company. The company has exciting plans for new product launches in the first quarter of 2027, demonstrating its commitment to continued growth and innovation.

The Ryl Tea range offers a variety of iced tea flavors, including peach, lemon, green tea, and an “Iced Tea with Benefits” line featuring flavors like watermelon and raspberry. Positioned as a zero-sugar beverage option with fewer than five calories per can, the company’s products resonate with health-conscious consumers seeking flavorful and guilt-free refreshments.

Currently available across the US, The Ryl Company is evaluating potential opportunities to enter new markets, with a focus on better-for-you-focused markets. Canada is considered a strong contender for potential expansion in the near future.
