Wife and two kids found dead in NY home after husband killed store clerk: prosecutors

A horrifying tragedy unfolded in upstate New York as a 29-year-old man, Saleh Q. Mohamed, went on a deadly rampage that left four people dead. The chain of events started when Mohamed allegedly shot deli owner Shukri Muthana, 43, in the chest at around 2:30 p.m. in Buffalo. An hour later, police responded to calls about a shooting at Mohamed’s home in Cheektowaga, where his 26-year-old wife, Aaisha Abdulla, and their two young sons, ages 4 and 3, were found shot to death.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and screams coming from Mohamed’s home, describing the scene as chaotic and terrifying. Police quickly apprehended Mohamed outside the residence, along with two others who were detained. The motive behind the killings remains unclear, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.

Dr. Khalid Qazi, president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic events, emphasizing the need to understand why such a senseless act occurred and how to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Mohamed now faces four murder charges – one for the Buffalo shooting and three for the deaths of his wife and children. He is being held without bail and could potentially face life in prison without parole if convicted.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office has indicated that additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses. The community mourns the loss of the victims and grapples with the aftermath of this devastating incident. As details continue to emerge, authorities are working to piece together the events that led to this horrific act of violence.
