Data of 53,888 People at Risk After Healthcare Firm Breached – Personal, Financial and Health Records Potentially Exposed
The cybersecurity breach at a Mississippi healthcare firm has put the personal, financial, and health information of 53,888 individuals at risk. Singing River Health System reported the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, stating that a hacking incident had occurred involving a network server.
Upon discovering unauthorized access to its network, Singing River immediately launched an investigation with the help of third-party cybersecurity experts and informed law enforcement. The breach occurred between December 19 and December 21, 2025, with files containing patient information being accessed on February 10, 2026.
The compromised information may include names, contact details, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, bank account details, health insurance information, provider names, patient identification numbers, dates of service, medication details, and treatment or diagnostic information.
