The hit TV series follows a group of misfit MI5 agents who have been demoted to the Gary Oldman-governed Slough House, where they find themselves in a world of intrigue and danger.

This upcoming season, which consists of six episodes, will be released weekly on Wednesdays until October 21. Based on Mick Herron’s novels “Joe Country” and “Slough House,” Season 6 will see MI5 boss Diana Taverner (played by Kristin Scott Thomas) involving the Slow Horses in a dangerous game of retaliation and revenge, forcing them to go on the run.

Returning cast members include Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Tom Brooke as J.K. Coe, Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright, and Hugo Weaving as Frank Harkness. Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, and newcomer Lenny Rush will also join the cast for Season 6.

The adaptation of Herron’s novels is handled by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Adam Randall taking on the role of director. The show is produced by See-Saw Films, with a team of executive producers including Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, and Oldman himself.

“Slow Horses” first premiered on Apple TV in 2022 and quickly gained popularity, earning BAFTA and Emmy nominations for its stellar cast and crew. Director Adam Randall even took home an Emmy for directing a drama series last year.

Fans of the series can look forward to another thrilling season filled with suspense, action, and unexpected twists as the Slow Horses navigate the dangerous world of espionage and betrayal. Be sure to mark your calendars for the premiere of Season 6 on September 16th, only on Apple TV.
