Neymar Jr. Partners With FlareFlow on 16-Title AI Microdrama Franchise

Soccer superstar Neymar Jr. has recently inked a deal to star in a groundbreaking AI-powered live-action microdrama franchise with COL Group’s FlareFlow platform. The collaboration will see the release of 16 titles, with the first six debuting globally on June 19.

The announcement was made ahead of FlareFlow’s chief marketing officer and COL Group’s general manager, Timothy Oh, appearing on a panel at the APOS conference dedicated to the microdrama industry. The timing of the release coincides with the heightened global attention surrounding the soccer World Cup season, with the initial six titles set to launch by June 22.

Utilizing AI-powered live-action production workflows, the franchise will explore a variety of genres, including sports redemption drama and science fiction. The debut titles include “The Way Back to Glory,” “The Playboy System: Scoring the Goddesses,” “Soccer Star Kidnapped Into the Galaxy Cup: Score or Die!,” “Fake Neymar, Real God,” “Project to Legend: NEY 10,” and “The Limping Janitor Is the True World Football King.”

James Wang, CEO of FlareFlow, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration signifies a pivotal moment for the global entertainment industry. Neymar is a highly influential athlete worldwide, and combining his star power with our advanced AI creative processes allows us to push the boundaries of storytelling on a grand scale.”

In addition to the global release, the franchise will also be available in mainland China through Xiaohongshu, a digital lifestyle platform with over 200 million daily active users. Timothy Oh highlighted the significance of the partnership in expanding premium vertical storytelling, particularly in genres like sports, to capture the attention of audiences during the World Cup season.

Neymar’s massive social media following of over 220 million serves as a testament to the popularity and appeal of vertical entertainment. FlareFlow, a subsidiary of COL Group, has a strong presence in the global market, having released around 5,200 series to date and boasting 33 million registered users across more than 200 countries and regions.
