Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy to Voice Animation ‘Mog’s Bad Thing’
Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy are set to return to the beloved world of Judith Kerr’s “Mog” picture books in Channel 4’s upcoming animated special, “Mog’s Bad Thing.”
In this delightful adventure, Cumberbatch will once again lend his voice to the character of Mr. Thomas, while Foy will voice Mrs. Thomas. Joining them are Adjoa Andoh, known for her role in “Bridgerton,” as the narrator, along with a talented cast including John Thomson, Katherine Parkinson, Mawaan Rizwan, and Amelia Theodorou.
Directed by Robin Shaw and produced by Lupus Films, “Mog’s Bad Thing” follows the mischievous Mog as she finds herself in a sticky situation. The Thomas family is hosting a cat show in their garden, and Mog’s antics lead her to hide in the attic, missing the start of the show. Can Mog find a way to redeem herself and make her family proud?
Based on Kerr’s beloved books, which have captivated readers worldwide, “Mog’s Bad Thing” is written by Joanna Harrison. The “Mog” series, inspired by Kerr’s own family cat, has been translated into 24 languages and sold over 4 million copies.
Produced by Ruth Fielding and Camilla Deakin for Lupus Films, the animated special was commissioned by Channel 4. International distribution for “Mog” is handled by Serious Kids, with theatrical distribution details to be announced soon.
