‘Love Island USA’ Fires Alannah Keyser From Season 8 for Using N-Word
Love Island USA has once again found itself embroiled in controversy, as Casa Amor participant Alannah Keyser has been removed from Season 8 after videos surfaced of her using the n-word. This marks the second time this season that a contestant has been kicked off the show for such behavior, following the dismissal of Vasana Montgomery before the season even premiered.
The videos in question, which were shared on social media, show Keyser singing along to the n-word in a song, as well as using the slur in an Instagram comment and a Snap message. These videos were originally posted to private accounts and only became public after Keyser had already appeared on the show, making them inaccessible during Peacock’s vetting process.
Keyser’s exit from the show mirrors similar incidents in past seasons, such as Yulissa Escobar’s removal during Season 7 for using the n-word, and Cierra Ortega’s departure after using a racist term for Asian people. Despite the backlash and subsequent dismissal, Keyser was shown in the first 20 minutes of Thursday’s episode sharing a chat and a kiss with partner Zach Georgiou before her exit was announced by narrator Iain Stirling.
A 21-year-old film student from Miami, Florida, Keyser was introduced as a Casa Amor bombshell in Episode 17 of Season 8. Casa Amor is a midseason twist on Love Island USA that brings in new islanders to test existing relationships.
Love Island USA airs new episodes daily, with Ariana Madix as host and Iain Stirling as narrator. The show is produced by ITV America in association with Lifted Entertainment and Motion Entertainment. Executive producers include David George, Adam Sher, and others.
This story has been updated to include a description of Keyser’s final episode on the show.
