Prices continue to move lower
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) began trading at $59,496.48 on Monday, June 29, 2026, which was 0.7% lower than the opening price on Sunday. By 8:50 a.m. ET, the price of bitcoin rose to $59,813.02. On the other hand, Ethereum (ETH-USD) started the day at $1,569.67, down 0.1% from Sunday’s opening price. Ethereum’s price increased slightly to $1,572.89 by the same time.
The downward trend in the prices of bitcoin and ethereum has been ongoing since mid-June. Ethereum’s price saw a 0.1% dip from Sunday’s opening. Looking back at the opening prices from the past week, month, and year, the declines were -7.9%, -21.8%, and -35.6% respectively. Ethereum reached an all-time high of $4,953.73 on Aug. 24, 2025, and a low of $0.4209 on Oct. 21, 2015.
