“There was a lot of screaming. After the mom was stabbed, I didn’t hear her anymore. But I heard the dad throughout the whole thing,” she added.
“It was just him saying, ‘Please help me, help me, help me. Somebody help me, please help me,’” Scurry continued.
“And then there was a pause in the audio, and he says, ‘Brandon, put the knife down. Please put the knife down.’ And then it’s just the dad saying, ‘Please help me, help me,’ and then the mom saying, ‘Please help me,’” she said.
Brandon fled the scene before being tracked down by cops and taken into custody.
Lance remained hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday, according to Correa.
“We are optimistic that he will survive his injuries,” Correa said.
Samantha, a realtor in the area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brandon is being held without bond at the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
Authorities have yet to determine a motive for the brutal attack.
“We’re still working on trying to establish a motive. We do not have one at this time,” Correa told The Post.

“I can’t really get it out of my head,” she said.
“Just knowing that I was there and I could have done something — I could have called 911. It’s hard to know that I heard that and I didn’t do anything,” she added.
“I didn’t know what was happening. I didn’t know if he was at my house. I didn’t know what was going on. I just heard it,” Scurry continued.
“I’ve been having a lot of anxiety,” she said.
“It’s really hard to know that that actually happened, and I was just sitting in my house not really knowing what was going on,” Scurry added.
“It’s hard to know that that actually happened and that those are the last sounds that she heard,” she said of Samantha.
“It’s really hard to know that he was out there and he was asking for help, and I didn’t help him. It’s just been hard,” Scurry concluded.
