A Treehouse of Horror Homage, a True-Crime Premiere, and Crazy Rich Asians Is Finally Coming Back
Sunday night has options for every Halloween-weekend mood. Fox’s new The Simpsons Halloween special airs at eight Eastern and Pacific, opening with a stop-motion nod to The Nightmare Before Christmas. The stories veer from alternate husbands to a body-swap scare and a murderous driver’s-ed film; Tiffany Haddish and Jeff Probst are among the guest voices. EW’s preview and The Futon Critic’s schedule lay out the details.
For a darker watch, Peacock premieres The Wolves of Real Estate: The Alexander Brothers, a three-part documentary examining the brothers’ rise in luxury real estate and private security, and the case that followed. The series is available to stream today, according to Vulture’s preview. If you’d rather trade scares for seasonal comfort, Hallmark’s What If Christmas, starring Lori Loughlin and Tom Cavanagh, premieres at eight Eastern, seven Central. It streams the next day on Hallmark+. Check Hallmark’s official listing for details.
There’s also an easy movie-night queue: Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe, is now streaming on Netflix. Netflix’s Tudum guide confirms it’s available alongside Gladiator II.
And for the week ahead, HBO has officially greenlit a Crazy Rich Asians series. Deadline reports that Constance Wu and Henry Golding are set to return, with Michelle Yeoh recurring; production is planned for New York next year. It’s a series, not a new movie, giving the story more room to unfold.
So, set up the couch: catch the animated scares, choose Hallmark if cozy wins, or save Peacock’s documentary for a binge. Queue Gladiator for another night, and keep an eye out for more HBO updates. What’s your pick for tonight: spooky, true-crime, or holiday comfort?
