U.S. Warns Middle East Allies of Possible Strikes on Iran After Midterms
The Brownstone Brief | October 29, 2026
U.S. officials have warned several Middle Eastern countries and regional partners to prepare for the possibility of renewed U.S. military strikes against Iran after the November 3 midterm elections, according to an Associated Press report published October 29.
Two diplomats familiar with the warnings said regional governments were also told to anticipate possible Iranian retaliation against energy facilities and critical infrastructure. The diplomats stressed that President Donald Trump has not made a final decision to order new strikes.
What has changed?
The report brings previously private diplomatic warnings into public view while the region remains under pressure from an extended conflict. The possibility of additional strikes is not the same as an authorized military operation.
What it means for our Neighbors
Another escalation could affect U.S. personnel, global oil shipments, fuel prices and household budgets. We are watching for official confirmation, diplomatic responses and decisions that change the military situation.
