All Nine Aboard Learjet Killed in Florida Crash Near Residential Neighborhood

GREENACRES, Fla. | November 2, 2026 — All nine people aboard a Learjet 60 that crashed near a residential neighborhood in Palm Beach County on Sunday died, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed. The crash occurred at approximately 12:50 p.m. near Military Trail and 10th Avenue North and sparked a fireball beside a busy roadway.

Flight from Texas to the Bahamas

The Federal Aviation Administration said the private jet had taken off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was headed to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. The aircraft’s registration was reported as N722BD.

Video from motorists showed the plane plunging toward the ground before the impact and explosion. Emergency crews responded and authorities closed nearby roads. Reports said the aircraft narrowly missed homes and traffic. The extent of any additional ground casualties or damage had not been fully established in the reporting reviewed.

What investigators are examining

The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation, supported by the FAA. Investigators have not announced the cause of the crash. Reports of rapid descent do not, by themselves, establish a mechanical problem, pilot action or any other cause.

What it means

Officials have confirmed the loss of nine lives. Families, residents and investigators now face the process of identifying the victims, documenting ground impacts and determining what caused the aircraft to crash. Brownstone Worldwide will update this report as official findings are released.
