‘Beloved Teammate’: Former NFL Player Chris Payton-Jones Dies At 30

The sports world mourns the loss of Chris Payton-Jones, a 30-year-old former NFL cornerback and videographer, who tragically passed away in a car accident.

According to reports, Payton-Jones was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Florida’s State Road 24 when his vehicle collided with a pick-up truck, resulting in a fatal crash. His car was engulfed in flames, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, as per USA Today and First Coast News.

A standout player during his college years at the University of Nebraska, Payton-Jones went on to have a successful career in the NFL, playing for teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Tennessee Titans. Most recently, he was a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks in the United Football League before retiring earlier this year.
