‘Brothers for Life’ Leads Skyline and Galaxy’s Global Sales Push

Skyline Media, a Vietnam-based sales agent, has recently partnered with streaming platform Galaxy Play to bring Galaxy Play Originals to international markets for the first time. This collaboration was announced during DANAFF Industry Days at the Danang Asian Film Festival, where Vietnamese content producers connect with international buyers. Skyline Media will serve as the exclusive international sales agent for over 20 original miniseries from Galaxy Play, expanding their reach beyond Vietnam’s local streaming market.

The initial lineup of original miniseries includes a diverse range of genres such as crime, action, thriller, horror, romance, and drama. Notable titles include “Brothers for Life,” a gangster action crime saga that has garnered awards at prestigious events, and “Thousand Dollar Baby,” a popular escort drama series. Additionally, “Sugar Daddy vs. Sugar Baby,” a drama exploring Vietnam’s underground sugar dating culture, is part of the slate.

One of the standout series is “Container 39,” inspired by the tragic Essex lorry incident in which 39 Vietnamese migrants lost their lives. Another compelling title is “Eve of the Crime,” a thriller based on a real murder case in a remote Vietnamese mountain town, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ham Tran.

Hang Trinh, CEO of Skyline Media, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of introducing Vietnamese miniseries to global audiences. Anh Pham, head of production at Galaxy Play, highlighted the platform’s commitment to delivering premium Vietnamese content to international viewers through high-quality productions and engaging storytelling.

Galaxy Play boasts a large subscriber base of over two million paying users and offers a vast library of local films, series, and Hollywood releases in 4K resolution with Dolby 5.1 surround sound. The platform has received recognition in the Asia-Pacific region for its original scripted content. On the other hand, Skyline Media has a strong distribution network, representing a wide range of foreign and Southeast Asian titles to global audiences.

The partnership between Skyline Media and Galaxy Play signifies a significant step towards showcasing Vietnamese storytelling on a global stage. By collaborating to bring original miniseries to international markets, both companies aim to expand the reach of Vietnamese content and create new opportunities for local creators to connect with audiences worldwide.
