Buffy Star Nicholas Brendon’s Handwritten Will Revealed

Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon reportedly left his entire estate to his twin brother, Kelton Donovan Schultz, following his passing in March. Kelton filed legal documents on June 15, revealing that Brendon had written a handwritten will before his death at the age of 54.

The alleged will, as shown in Kelton’s filing, stated, “My will. Sarah gets nothing. Kel gets everything. He can figure it out.” Sarah Marker, Brendon’s ex-girlfriend, along with his parents Robert and Kathleen Schultz, and Kelton were named as potential beneficiaries of the estate.

Brendon, who did not have a spouse or children, had no estimated value of his estate at the time of his passing. Both of his parents declined to serve as administrators of the estate, nominating Kelton instead.

News of Brendon’s death was confirmed by his family in a statement on March 20, revealing that he passed away peacefully in his sleep. The statement described Brendon as a passionate and driven artist, known for his iconic roles on television.

An autopsy report later determined that Brendon’s cause of death was related to cardiovascular disease, with acute pneumonia and a previous heart attack as contributing factors. Atherosclerosis, a condition where fat and cholesterol build up in arteries, was cited as a primary cause of his passing.

Brendon rose to fame for his role as Xander Harris on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which aired from 1997 to 2003. In 2023, he opened up about his health struggles, including a heart attack and congenital heart defect, as well as legal issues and multiple spinal surgeries.

Despite his challenges, Brendon remained resilient and candid about his experiences, sharing his journey with fans on social media. His legacy as an actor and advocate for mental health continues to resonate with audiences around the world.
