California labor boss’s shocking three-word tweet aimed at Elon Musk resurfaces

A tweet containing profanity directed at Elon Musk has resurfaced following his company SpaceX’s record-breaking IPO that made him a trillionaire and led to his relocation from California to Texas.

Experts estimate that California lost out on billions when Musk moved his multi-trillion-dollar business empire, comprising Tesla and X, to Texas.

A six-year-old tweet by the President of California’s labor unions, Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, has garnered renewed attention for its role in Musk’s decision to move Tesla out of the state.

In May 2020, Fletcher tweeted, “F— Elon Musk,” to which Musk simply replied, “Message received,” the next day.

It was later confirmed that Fletcher’s tweet influenced Musk’s choice to relocate Tesla to Texas, as Musk responded with “Exactly” to an article stating the same.

“This single tweet cost California hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes, revenue, and jobs,” investment banker John LeFevre wrote on X Friday, calling it the “costliest tweet in California’s history.”

Several critics weighed in on the situation, highlighting the significant impact of Fletcher’s tweet on California’s economy.

Musk’s departure from California was influenced by various factors, including political differences with Democrats, dissatisfaction with the state’s business environment, and disagreements with lawmakers over COVID-19 regulations.

On Friday, California Governor Gavin Newsom and other Democrats criticized Musk’s trillionaire status, highlighting economic disparities and the “rigged” system.

Fletcher praised Newsom’s criticism of Musk’s wealth on Saturday, expressing support for addressing the issue.
