Christopher Meloni recently bid farewell to his iconic character, Elliot Stabler, from the popular television series “Law & Order.” The news of the cancellation of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” after five seasons has left fans saddened. Meloni, who portrayed Stabler on and off since 1999, expressed his gratitude to the loyal fans who supported the character throughout the years.

Meloni initially starred as Stabler alongside Mariska Hargitay’s character, Olivia Benson, in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” from its premiere in 1999 until the 12th season in 2011. He made a triumphant return to the franchise in 2021, guest-starring in “SVU” while leading the spinoff, “Organized Crime.” The series aired on NBC for four seasons before moving to Peacock for its fifth season in 2025.

In addition to his role in “Organized Crime,” Meloni has made guest appearances in the flagship “Law & Order” series over the years. While the flagship series awaits renewal, “SVU” is set to return for its 28th season in the fall. Meloni’s portrayal of Elliot Stabler has left a lasting impact on fans and solidified his place in television history.
