Ex-Ohio State president Ted Carter’s girlfriend would sneak through campus garage to get to his office, report reveals
The scandal involving former Ohio State President Ted Carter and his alleged affair with podcaster Krisanthe Vlachos has sent shockwaves through the university community. According to a detailed report released by the college, Carter reportedly used university resources to support Vlachos’ private business ventures and engaged in secret rendezvous with her.
The report revealed that Carter snuck Vlachos through a campus garage for secret visits to his office, and the pair took at least five trips together to various locations across the country. These trips were allegedly disguised as business-related excursions, with Carter using his position to give Vlachos access to university leadership and resources.
One social media post showed the duo at a conference in Colorado Springs, with Carter smiling next to Vlachos, who was dressed in an all-black leather outfit. Carter, who is married to Lynda Carter, admitted to giving Vlachos inappropriate access to university resources when he resigned from his position.
The investigation found that Carter enlisted the help of at least 14 university staffers to support Vlachos’ business ventures, including efforts to secure her a university job, office space, support staff, and financial backing from external agencies like JobsOhio. JobsOhio reportedly invested $60,000 in Vlachos’ podcast about veteran issues, but only one episode was completed before the scandal broke.
Carter’s close personal and business relationship with Vlachos was deemed a betrayal of Ohio State’s values and a violation of university policy. The report stated that Carter’s actions had a wide-ranging impact and lasted for almost two years. JobsOhio has since tried to recover the funds it invested in Vlachos’ projects after the scandal came to light.
Despite the allegations, Carter and Vlachos have not publicly addressed the relationship controversy. The fallout from this scandal has raised questions about ethical conduct and misuse of university resources. Ohio State officials are continuing to investigate the matter, with a focus on an LLC registered to Vlachos at a university-owned building.
The situation has tarnished Carter’s reputation and highlighted the need for transparency and accountability in university leadership. The repercussions of this scandal are likely to have long-lasting effects on the Ohio State community and serve as a cautionary tale about the misuse of power and privilege.
