Harrowing details emerge after Carlsbad bouncer fired taser into man’s face at point-blank range

A shocking incident took place at a bar in Carlsbad, where a bouncer fired a taser at a patron’s face from point-blank range. Fortunately, the patron, 21-year-old Robert Pulito, escaped substantial injury despite both probes hitting his left eye, causing him immense pain.

The bouncer, David Marquez, took this drastic action after asking Pulito to leave the San Diego bar where he was celebrating a FIFA win. Marquez now faces three felony charges, including assault with a stun gun. Deputy District Attorney Kimberly Coulter emphasized the luck of Pulito in this case, as the probes narrowly missed causing significant harm, with no evidence of substantial injury thus far.

The disturbing incident was captured on video at the Park 101 bar on the evening of June 24. Marquez can be seen aiming and firing the stun gun at Pulito, who collapsed to the ground as onlookers rushed to his aid. Police arrested Marquez later that night, and he was subsequently fired from his job at the bar.

Witnesses mentioned that the bar was packed that night for a World Cup game, highlighting the chaotic atmosphere leading up to the altercation. Prosecutors also discovered another social media video showing Marquez in a fight with a different patron on the same day, indicating a pattern of aggressive behavior.

Further scrutiny revealed Marquez’s past involvement in a 2006 misdemeanor case for domestic violence. He is set to appear in court again next month to face the consequences of his actions. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers that can arise in nightlife settings, emphasizing the importance of responsible behavior and de-escalation techniques in handling conflicts.
