In 911 call, 75-year-old CCL holder admits to double murder: ‘They got on my #$%@ nerves!’

Chicago Man Charged with Murdering Girlfriend and Her Sister

A shocking incident unfolded on the night of March 7 in Chicago when a 75-year-old man called 911 and confessed to murdering his girlfriend of 25 years and her sister. The man, identified as William Wallace, reportedly told the operator that he committed the heinous act because the women had irritated him.

Wallace, a concealed carry license holder, now faces two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Phyllis Goolsby, 68, and Tuanna Thomas, 71. The tragic events took place in the home they shared in the 10400 block of South Peoria Street.

The evening started innocently enough at a bar, where Wallace, Goolsby, and her son were enjoying a night out. However, tensions arose when Goolsby became upset over Wallace accepting a drink from someone else. The couple left the bar around 9:45 p.m. and returned home.

An hour later, Wallace dialed 911 and confessed to the operator that he had shot the two women. He provided his address and revealed that the victims were sisters, as per a detention filing.

Upon police arrival, Wallace admitted to the crime and directed officers to the victims’ locations inside the house. Goolsby was found on the living room couch, shot twice, with a 9mm handgun nearby. Thomas was discovered in a bedroom on the first floor, shot three times in the back. Prosecutors noted no signs of a struggle in the residence.

Following the incident, police conducted tests for gunshot residue on Wallace’s hands. When an officer thanked him for his cooperation, Wallace expressed his frustration, stating, “I have no patience. My patience is gone.”

While in custody, Wallace made two phone calls to relatives, leaving voicemails confessing to the murders and acknowledging that he was facing charges.

Despite a minor incident in 1974 involving unlawful use of a weapon, which was later dropped, Wallace had no significant criminal history. Judge Ankur Srivastava ordered him to remain detained pending trial.
