Jason Ritter Wants Justin Hartley to Save Him on Tracker
Jason Ritter is still eager to make a guest appearance on Tracker, even if it means playing a “damsel in distress” who is rescued by Justin Hartley. The 46-year-old actor expressed his admiration for Hartley and their friendship, hinting at a possible crossover between Tracker and Matlock. Ritter joked about joining forces with Hartley’s character, Colter Shaw, to solve cases and find missing people.
Matlock, which debuted in September 2024, follows the story of Madeline Kingston, played by Kathy Bates, who assumes the identity of Matty Matlock to work at a law firm. On the other hand, Tracker follows Hartley as Colter Shaw, a survivalist who solves missing person cases for a reward.
Ritter’s co-star Skye P. Marshall shared a humorous take on his rugged image, teasing him about trying to portray a tough guy on set. Despite Marshall’s playful jabs, she expressed interest in seeing Ritter collaborate with Hartley on Tracker. However, she jokingly suggested that Ritter might end up being the one who gets kidnapped, emphasizing that he shouldn’t be given a gun.
Ritter acknowledged Marshall’s point and admitted that he excels at playing characters who need to be rescued. Embracing the idea of becoming Hartley’s next “damsel in distress,” Ritter humorously accepted the role. With a self-deprecating tone, Ritter acknowledged that in real life, he might not fare well in a survival situation like on Tracker.
As the banter between the actors continued, Ritter and Marshall entertained the possibility of Ritter appearing on Tracker as a character in need of saving. The lighthearted exchange showcased their camaraderie and willingness to play along with the idea of Ritter as the unlikely hero on the show.
Tracker airs on CBS on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET and is available for streaming on Paramount+ the following day. With the potential for exciting crossovers and guest appearances, fans can look forward to seeing how Ritter’s character might fit into the world of Tracker alongside Hartley’s Colter Shaw.
