Lefty Senate candidate Graham Platner makes unthinkable gaffe, flubs Bernie Sanders’ name twice in fiery ‘Fight the Oligarchy’ rally
Far-Left Candidate Struggles with Pronunciation of Bernie Sanders’ Name at Rally
Graham Platner, a far-left candidate for the US Senate, recently stumbled over Sen. Bernie Sanders’ name twice during a rally speech in Portland, Maine. The rally took place just one week ahead of the Maine primaries, where Platner is hoping to secure the Democratic nomination.
Platner, who is running on a platform of fighting against the oligarchy, spoke alongside Sanders at the “Fight the Oligarchy” rally in Portland. However, despite trying to boost Sanders’ candidacy, Platner struggled with the pronunciation of his name.
During his speech, Platner mentioned a previous event where he shared a stage with “Senator Standers,” clearly mispronouncing Sanders’ name. He made the same mistake again while closing out his speech, just before Sanders took the stage.
Platner’s mispronunciation of Sanders’ name comes on the heels of a controversy surrounding some of his past social media posts. Last week, several posts from Platner’s burner Reddit account resurfaced online, causing a stir among voters.
In one particularly damning comment, Platner referred to an American soldier who had bravely saved his squad mates in combat as a “dumb motherf—er.” He went on to criticize the soldier’s actions and questioned his worthiness to live.
Another post revealed Platner’s disturbing fascination with gross graffiti and his inappropriate behavior in porta-potties. These revelations have raised serious concerns about Platner’s character and judgment.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee wasted no time in capitalizing on Platner’s controversial online presence. They released a short video mocking Platner, using AI-generated imagery to highlight his inappropriate behavior.
Despite these controversies, Platner remains a contender in the race for the US Senate seat currently held by Republican Susan Collins. He became the presumptive Democratic nominee after Maine Governor Janet Mills suspended her campaign.
As the Maine primaries draw near, Platner’s missteps and controversial past are sure to be hot topics of discussion among voters and political pundits alike.
