Megyn Kelly rips Sydney Sweeney over ‘Euphoria’ scene: ‘This is sexualizing infancy’

Megyn Kelly Slams Sydney Sweeney Over “Euphoria” Teaser

Megyn Kelly didn’t hold back as she criticized actress Sydney Sweeney for a controversial “Euphoria” teaser, which she deemed as crossing a disturbing line.

During Tuesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly expressed her disapproval of the newly released preview for Season 3 of HBO’s “Euphoria,” where Sweeney’s character seems to be involved in an OnlyFans-like storyline.

Describing the clip in graphic terms, Kelly pointed out that Sweeney is depicted “dressed as a baby… sucking on a binky pacifier” with her “legs… completely spread.”

“I can’t believe she agreed to this frankly and was in this,” Kelly remarked.

Criticism of the show has been mounting as Season 3 of “Euphoria” premiered on Sunday, with many viewers taking issue with the kink-coded imagery portrayed by Sweeney’s character, which has been labeled as degrading and fetishistic.

Kelly condemned Sweeney’s pacifier scene as “sick” and accused the show of pushing boundaries solely for shock value.

The former Fox News host also called out the show’s creator, Sam Levinson.

Reports have surfaced indicating that Sweeney and other actors working with Levinson on the set of “Euphoria” have pushed back against his requests for more nudity in scenes.

Several actresses from the show, including Sweeney, have spoken out about their discomfort with the amount of nudity written into the series.

“He constantly wants the women to take their clothes off for scenes that don’t require them to be nude at all,” Kelly stated regarding Levinson.

She framed the controversy as a reflection of a broader issue in Hollywood.

“I think this is another example of Hollywood not understanding at all where the line is,” Kelly expressed. “And how most normal people are going to recoil… in response to what’s essentially the sexualization of a child, of a baby.”

As the anticipation for the next season of “Euphoria” continues to grow, the teaser hints at Sweeney’s character potentially transitioning into a social media influencer role, possibly involving adult content platforms.

Sweeney has addressed concerns about nudity in the series, stating in previous interviews that she has resisted scenes she felt were unnecessary.

Kelly’s critique represents a stark departure from her previous positive remarks about the actress.

Last year, Kelly lauded Sweeney as a “real” and “natural” beauty while defending her during a backlash over an American Eagle ad campaign where the actress promoted her “great jeans,” sparking a play on words with “genes.”

The ad campaign quickly became a cultural controversy, but American Eagle stood by it — and Sweeney — as the attention boosted sales and brand awareness.

Kelly commended Sweeney for handling the situation “like a boss” by largely staying out of the fray initially.

However, Kelly later suggested that Sweeney had succumbed to industry pressure after addressing the backlash more directly.

The journalist has also criticized some of Sweeney’s fashion choices on the red carpet.

Sweeney clarified to People that she participated in the American Eagle ad out of love for the brand and emphasized her stance against hate and divisiveness, refuting negative interpretations of the campaign.

The Post has reached out to HBO and representatives for Sweeney and Levinson for comment.
