Monte-Carlo TV Festival to Fete Kurt Russell, Kristin Scott Thomas
Kurt Russell and Kristin Scott Thomas have been selected as the recipients of the prestigious Crystal Nymph Award at the upcoming Monte-Carlo Television Festival. This award recognizes their outstanding contributions to the film and TV industry. The awards will be presented by Prince Albert II of Monaco during the festival’s 65th edition, which is scheduled to take place from June 12 to June 16 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
Cécile Menoni, the executive director of the festival, expressed excitement about honoring Russell and Scott Thomas, stating that their exceptional careers in both film and television perfectly reflect artistic excellence and an international perspective. She emphasized that these awards celebrate the remarkable talents of two individuals who have made a lasting impact on the global audiovisual landscape.
Kristin Scott Thomas will be honored during the opening ceremony on June 12. Known for her recent work in the acclaimed series “Slow Horses,” Scott Thomas also made her directorial debut with “My Mother’s Wedding,” a project in which she wrote, directed, and starred.
Expressing her gratitude for the recognition, Scott Thomas said, “I am deeply honored to receive this recognition in Monaco, a place that has long celebrated artistic excellence with such grace.”
On the other hand, Kurt Russell will receive his award during the closing ceremony on June 16. Russell, who has recently returned to television with “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” is set to appear in the highly anticipated series “The Madison.”
Russell expressed his excitement about receiving the distinguished award, stating, “It is a great honor to be selected for this award, and I very much look forward to spending time with His Serene Highness Prince Albert. It has been a long time.”
The Crystal Nymph Award has previously been bestowed upon international talents such as Michael Douglas, Helen Mirren, Donald Sutherland, Morgan Freeman, and Robin Wright.
This recognition further solidifies Russell and Scott Thomas’ status as icons in the entertainment industry, and their contributions to film and television continue to be celebrated on a global scale.
