New York’ Casts Jennifer Beals, Three Others
NCIS: New York, the latest addition to the popular CBS franchise, has just announced the addition of four new cast members. According to Variety, Jennifer Beals, Jacqueline Byers, Shane Harper, and Devin Druid have all been cast in series regular roles for the upcoming series. They will be joining previously announced leads LL Cool J and Scott Caan in this exciting new venture.
In NCIS: New York, LL Cool J will be reprising his role as NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna, a character he portrayed for 14 seasons on NCIS: Los Angeles. The show’s logline describes the series as following “Legendary NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) as he returns to his hometown of New York City to the NCIS field office, partnering with a roguish agent (Caan) and leading a new team on high-stakes missions to defend one of the most vital cities and ports in the world.”
Beals will be taking on the role of Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells, the director of the NCIS New York field office known for leading with intuition and earning the respect of her team. Byers will portray NCIS Special Agent Addison “Addy” Ross, a tough and resourceful agent with a lot to prove. Harper will star as NCIS Special Agent Wyatt Hill, a fearless and skilled field agent with a romantic side, while Druid will play NCIS Tech Specialist Sean Sullivan, a witty and brilliant team member resistant to authority.
The pilot episode of NCIS: New York was written by R. Scott Gemmill, who brings his experience from writing on NCIS: Los Angeles and serving as showrunner for seven seasons. Byron Balasco, known for his work on Without a Trace and Kingdom, will serve as showrunner for NCIS: New York. The series will be executive produced by Gemmill, Balasco, Adam Davidson, Kyle Harimoto, Joe Wilson, LL Cool J, and Jason Barrett, with CBS Studios producing and Paramount Global Content Distribution handling distribution.
The NCIS franchise continues to be a staple in the CBS lineup, with the original NCIS series entering its 24th season this fall and the prequel NCIS: Origins set to debut its third season. In addition to NCIS: New York, CBS also airs NCIS: Sydney, with past entries including NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: Hawai’i, and NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
