NFL Preseason Finals Tonight as Heat Eye Ben Simmons for Final Roster Spot
The NFL’s final Friday preseason slate arrives tonight, with roster hopefuls getting one more opportunity to make an impression before teams turn toward final cuts. The schedule includes Falcons at Dolphins and Texans at Panthers at 7 p.m. ET, Giants at Jets at 7:30 p.m., and Saints at Cowboys, Cardinals at Packers, and Bengals at Eagles at 8 p.m. ET. Vikings at Broncos follows at 9 p.m. ET. The official NFL schedule shows two additional preseason games Saturday.

For many players, tonight is less about the final score than consistency, health and special-teams value. The Bengals-Eagles matchup is scheduled for CBS, while several other games will be available through local broadcasts and streaming options. USA TODAY’s 2026 preseason guide provides the complete team-by-team schedule.

The NBA is also generating conversation. Heavy reports that Miami could investigate free-agent Ben Simmons for its final roster spot, seeking another proven ball-handler behind Davion Mitchell. Simmons offers size, defense and playmaking, but health and shooting remain important questions. CBS Sports’ Heat roster does not list Simmons, and no signing has been announced.

For neighbors planning a sports-filled evening, check local listings before kickoff and watch Saturday for the remaining preseason games. Which team’s roster battle: and which potential Heat move: will you be following most closely? Share your take with the Brownstone Worldwide community.
