Ohio vet Lynnea Soposki, her husband, and their son, 1, killed after truck smashed into cars on I-71

An Ohio veterinarian, Lynnea Soposki, her husband Luke, an analytical chemist, and their one-year-old son Logan tragically lost their lives in a devastating multi-car crash on Interstate 71 in Ohio. The fatal accident occurred when tractor-trailer driver Modou F. Ngom collided with several cars in a backed-up traffic jam, resulting in a fiery collision that claimed the lives of the Soposki family.

The incident, which took place just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, resulted in a nine-vehicle crash that left cars engulfed in flames. Ngom’s white Freightliner truck struck a red car, setting off the chain reaction that led to the fatal crash. Among the vehicles caught up in the collision was the Soposkis’ 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.

The crash occurred in a construction zone near the Route 37 interchange, where the northbound exit was reduced to one lane. This lane closure was part of a $31 million project aimed at improving road safety and reducing congestion on the highway.

Lynnea Soposki, a veterinarian at the Muirfield Animal Hospital in Dublin, was described as an extraordinary caregiver who brought kindness, dedication, and a genuine love for her patients into every interaction. Outside of work, she enjoyed beekeeping with her husband Luke, hiking, and working out. The couple had recently moved to Ohio from New York and had become active members of their community, where they were known for their positive energy and love for their son Logan.

Friends and colleagues remembered Lynnea and Luke as a loving couple who had blossomed in Ohio. Michael Davies, their personal trainer, spoke fondly of the couple and their dedication to their family. He recalled a recent visit to the gym where Lynnea and Luke proudly introduced little Logan to their friends, radiating joy and happiness as new parents.

Ngom, the driver responsible for the fatal crash, has been charged with vehicular homicide. During a court hearing, he was given a $500,000 cash surety bond and faces one to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted. Prosecutors have indicated that additional charges may be filed against Ngom, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the next steps in the case.

The tragic loss of Lynnea, Luke, and Logan Soposki has deeply impacted their community, leaving loved ones and colleagues mourning the untimely deaths of a beloved family. Their memory will live on through the lives they touched and the legacy of love and kindness they leave behind.
