Raisin heir Bruce Lion was busted for terror threats
A disturbing incident involving a wealthy fruit scion, Bruce Lion, has recently come to light, as he was caught on camera hurling racist and antisemitic insults at his Jewish neighbors from his luxurious Pacific Palisades mansion. Lion, a 64-year-old heir to the Lion Raisins fortune, has a history of run-ins with the law, including previous arrests for criminal threats and gun possession.
Videos obtained by The California Post show Lion verbally harassing Rabbi Zushe Cunin, his neighbor, from the balcony of his $5.3 million mansion. In the videos, Lion can be heard shouting nonsensical grievances against the Jewish faith and the rabbi, using vile language and making threatening remarks. He has also been accused of interrupting worship services at the nearby Chabad of Pacific Palisades, yelling slurs against Jewish and black people.
Rabbi Cunin described the incidents as horrific, especially when they occurred in front of children. He and other members of the community repeatedly complained to the police, leading to Lion’s arrest on charges of making terror threats. City Councilwoman Traci Parks condemned Lion’s behavior, stating that hate has no place in Pacific Palisades or anywhere in Los Angeles.
Lion’s troubling behavior is not new, as he has a lengthy rap sheet that includes previous convictions for violating restraining orders, assault, and other offenses. Despite his family’s successful fruit company, Lion Raisins, Lion’s personal conduct has been marred by a series of legal troubles and disturbing incidents.
In a recent interview with The California Post, Lion expressed his disdain for his Jewish neighbors, playing Christian devotional music loudly to annoy them and displaying paintings of Jesus Christ on his property. He also made derogatory remarks about his neighbors and claimed that the rabbi was “hiding bodies” on his property.
The situation escalated when Lion called Rabbi Cunin in the middle of the night, making disturbing threats and profanity-laced comments. The rabbi described the phone calls as “crazy stuff” and expressed concern for his safety and that of his congregation.
Despite Lion’s claims of innocence and shifting blame onto others, his behavior has caused significant distress in the community. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing hate speech and bigotry in all its forms, and the need to hold individuals accountable for their actions.
