Metabolic Meals is a subscription-based service that specializes in providing macro-friendly meals, as stated on their website. The company is currently cooperating with investigators and has been in direct contact with customers who purchased the affected meal types to notify them of the outbreak.
Symptoms of a Salmonella infection can range from nausea and vomiting to diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. In severe cases, the bacteria can lead to complications such as arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms.
If you suspect that you may have consumed any of the contaminated products, the CDC advises checking your refrigerator or freezer for them and disposing of them immediately. Alternatively, you can contact Metabolic Meals for further guidance on handling the situation.
It is important to note that the number of reported cases may be higher than currently known, as it typically takes 3 to 4 weeks to confirm whether an individual is part of an outbreak. Public health officials continue to monitor the situation closely and urge anyone experiencing symptoms to seek medical attention promptly.
