Samsung Wallet Trips Adds Itinerary Feature

Samsung has recently unveiled a new feature called “Trips” for its Wallet app, aimed at simplifying travel planning for users. This new feature consolidates all travel bookings such as flights, hotel reservations, car rentals, bus tickets, and planned events into a single organized timeline. The key organizing factors are time and location, making it easier for users to access their entire itinerary on their smartphone screen in a linear and easy-to-understand format.

The Trips feature automates the timeline by pulling information from relevant sources, but users also have the option to manually add their own plans and notes. This ensures that all travel-related information is in one place, eliminating the need to switch between different apps to figure out the next steps of the journey.

According to Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, “Travel plans are often scattered across confirmations, apps, and messages, and that creates friction at the exact moments people need clarity. By bringing Trips to Samsung Wallet, we’re giving Galaxy users a single place to keep their trip details organized and stay one step ahead as their plans unfold.”

In terms of security, Samsung Knox encryption and biometric authentication are utilized to ensure that users’ itineraries remain private and secure. The Trips feature is set to roll out in the UK, US, and Korea this month and will be compatible with Samsung devices running Samsung Wallet version 6.4.98 or higher. This means that users don’t need the latest Samsung flagship model to take advantage of this new feature on their next holiday.
