Secret Service investigating possible sniper’s nest with sight line to Trump Air Force One arrival near Palm Beach airport
The US Secret Service is currently conducting an investigation into a potentially suspicious structure near President Trump’s Air Force One landing area at Palm Beach International Airport. The structure, which was discovered on Thursday, is located in a tree and is within the line of sight of the section of the airport where Trump exits the presidential jet. Law enforcement sources have described the structure as an unusual collection of pipes.
Although no ammunition or explosives were found in the vicinity, the presence of the structure has raised concerns within the Secret Service. Authorities are unsure whether the structure is a hunting stand, debris in a tree, or if it serves a more nefarious purpose.
The area in question is known to be frequented by hunters who target invasive green iguanas, according to sources. FBI Director Kash Patel revealed to Fox News that the Secret Service discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand near the Air Force One landing zone prior to the president’s return to West Palm Beach.
Despite an intense investigation by the FBI, no individuals were found at the scene. The FBI has since taken the lead on the investigation, bringing in additional resources to gather evidence and utilizing cell phone analytics capabilities.
This incident comes after President Trump narrowly escaped a sniper attack during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. Additionally, the Secret Service arrested a suspect at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course on September 15 after he was found in a suspicious location.
The investigation into the structure near Air Force One’s landing area continues as authorities work to determine the purpose and potential threat posed by the structure.
