Security for UFC fights at White House will be at Super Bowl level, Secret Service says
As UFC fans prepare to gather in Washington, D.C., for the highly anticipated Freedom 250 event, security measures are being tightened to ensure the safety of all attendees. According to the top Secret Service agent for D.C., UFC Freedom 250 has been classified as a Special Event Assessment Review 1 event, similar to major sporting events like the Super Bowl and the Kentucky Derby.
The event, which will take place on the South Lawn of the White House, has limited access and is invitation-only for around 4,000 guests. Spectators who are not able to attend in person will have the opportunity to watch the action unfold on The Ellipse, just outside the White House grounds.
Security will be a top priority at the UFC Fan Fest and Watch Party on The Ellipse, with attendees required to pass through TSA-like screening. Special Agent Tara McLeese emphasized the importance of arriving early, avoiding large bags, and leaving drones at home, as flying drones in the National Capital Region is prohibited.
