Singer D4vd arrested after teen found dead in his Tesla: Police
The young singer known as D4vd has found himself in a troubling situation, as he has been arrested in connection with the death of a teenage girl. The girl’s decomposing body was discovered in the trunk of a towed Tesla that was registered to the singer. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed this information to ABC News.
D4vd, whose real name is David Burke and is a 21-year-old resident of Los Angeles, is currently being held without bail in connection with the alleged murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Sources have indicated that the arrest was made based on evidence and probable cause that was developed, although it has not yet resulted in an indictment.
The LAPD has stated that the case will be presented to the L.A. District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration on Monday. In response to the allegations, D4vd’s attorneys have maintained his innocence, stating that the evidence will show he did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and was not responsible for her death.
Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 14-year-old from Lake Elsinore in Riverside County, was reported missing in 2024. Her body was found dismembered, leading investigators to believe that the process of dismembering and disposing of her body likely involved more than one person.
The discovery of the girl’s body came after officers responded to a foul odor emanating from a vehicle at an impound lot in Hollywood on September 8. The body was found in the front trunk of the abandoned Tesla, which had been at the lot for two days before being towed. The vehicle was registered to D4vd.
At the time of the discovery, D4vd was on his “Withered” world tour, which was subsequently canceled following the incident. This included shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and even the European leg of the tour. Additionally, promotion for the deluxe edition of his debut album, “Romantic Homicide,” was put on hold.
As the investigation continues and the case is brought before the District Attorney’s Office, the singer remains in custody, proclaiming his innocence while facing serious accusations related to the tragic death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
