Suspect in deadly shooting after Bay Area high school graduation tracked down in Texas

The Fairfield Police Department and US Marshals have apprehended the suspected gunman responsible for a tragic mass shooting at a Bay Area high school graduation ceremony. The 17-year-old male was arrested at a residence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, although his identity has not been disclosed due to his age.

The shooting, which took place on June 3, resulted in the death of 18-year-old Jamario Baker and left three others injured, aged 11, 20, and 25. The suspect is currently being held on suspicion of murder, with plans in motion to extradite him to Solano County. Law enforcement officials worked tirelessly to identify and locate the perpetrator, conducting numerous interviews, analyzing surveillance footage, executing search warrants, and processing forensic evidence.

The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District expressed gratitude for the efforts of law enforcement in a statement to KCRA. The tragic incident occurred shortly after the conclusion of Sem Yeto High School’s commencement at Fairfield High School’s Schafer Stadium. Witnesses reported that the shooting erupted in the parking lot as families and graduates gathered to take photos.

While the arrest of the suspect may provide some relief to the community, the pain and impact of the violence are still deeply felt. The district extended condolences to the victim’s family, friends, classmates, and all those affected by the senseless act of violence. The investigation into the incident continues as authorities work towards seeking justice for the victims and their loved ones.
