‘The Hunting Party’ Canceled at NBC After Two Seasons
NBC Cancels “The Hunting Party” After Two Seasons
NBC has made the decision to cancel “The Hunting Party” after airing two seasons of the show. The final episode aired on May 7, bringing an end to the series which followed former FBI profiler Rebecca “Bex” Henderson, played by Melissa Roxburgh, as she led a team of investigators on a mission to track down dangerous fugitives who had escaped from a top-secret government prison known as “The Pit.”
The cast of the series also included Nick Wechsler, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie, and Sara Garcia. Created by JJ Bailey and co-showrunner Jake Coburn, the show was produced by Universal Television with executive producers including Bailey, Coburn, director Thor Freudenthal, and writer Michael Jones Morales.
The news of the cancellation came shortly after NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation, where it was announced that “The Hunting Party” was not being renewed for another season. Along with this cancellation, NBC also axed the freshman comedy “Stumble” and the second season drama “Brilliant Minds.” However, several popular shows including “Law & Order,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago Med” were renewed for another season.
Looking ahead to the 2026-2027 season, NBC has revealed plans to debut two new dramas – a reboot of “The Rockford Files” and a series centered around a law enforcement family called “Line of Fire.” Additionally, two new comedies are set to premiere, including a detective show titled “Sunset P.I.” and a romantic comedy called “Newlyweds.”
