CBS’ “The Young and the Restless”/”Beyond the Gates” Crossover Boosts Ratings for Both Shows

The recent crossover event between CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and “Beyond the Gates” proved to be a ratings success for both shows. During the week of June 8, “Beyond the Gates” saw a significant increase in viewership, averaging 1.8 million viewers throughout the week, marking an 11% rise from its season-to-date numbers. This spike in viewership made it the third most-watched week for the soap since its premiere in February 2025.

“The Young and the Restless” also experienced a slight uptick in ratings during the same week, with 3.11 million viewers tuning in, up 2% from its season average of 3.06 million viewers. This increase can be attributed to guest stars Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox making appearances on the show.

The crossover event, which was announced in January, featured six characters from “The Young and the Restless” crossing over to “Beyond the Gates.” The characters included Eric Braeden, Michael Mealor, Peter Bergman, Susan Walters, Melissa Ordway, and Bryton James, and their appearances generated excitement among fans of both shows.

During the crossover event, “Beyond the Gates” achieved its highest viewership numbers on Thursday and Friday, with 1.83 million and 1.84 million viewers respectively, marking an 11% increase from the previous week. Additionally, the show saw a significant boost in viewership on Tuesday and Wednesday, with 1.80 million and 1.87 million viewers tuning in, up 16% and 17% respectively.

The crossover storyline focused on the reunion of longtime friends Vernon Dupree and Victor Newman at a political fundraiser, which led to the characters from Genoa City being transported to Fairmont Crest, culminating in a shocking tornado event.

As for “The Young and the Restless,” the appearances of Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox on the show contributed to a 9% increase in viewership for the Monday episode and a steady viewership of 3.01 million for the Tuesday episode.
