Western Rise apparel brand moves from Colorado to Vietnam
Western Rise Makes a Comeback After Bankruptcy
Will Watters, co-founder of Western Rise, humbly admits in a letter to customers that the company had failed after eight years of operation. Despite having great products and a loyal customer base, the business had taken on too much and lost sight of its foundation.
Specializing in upscale men’s travel clothing, Western Rise was founded in 2015 by the husband and wife duo Kelly and Will Watters. However, the company faced bankruptcy in June 2024 due to accumulating $5.4 million in debt.
Seeking a fresh start, the Watters family relocated to Vietnam to rebuild Western Rise from scratch. The company’s relaunch includes new product lines and a documentary series on YouTube titled “The Journey,” showcasing the challenges faced during their comeback.
Although Western Rise’s ties to Telluride have weakened, the brand continues to focus on providing lightweight and comfortable travelwear. With plans to move their warehouse to Vietnam for easier shipping, the company remains dedicated to delivering quality products to customers.
