India claims Pakistan is moving troops ‘into forward areas’

Pakistan Launches Attacks on Multiple Locations Across India, Indian Officials Say

Indian officials revealed during a press briefing on Saturday that Pakistan had initiated attacks on 26 different locations across India. Additionally, the Pakistani military has started moving its troops into forward areas, signaling a concerning escalation of tensions between the two neighboring countries.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri condemned Pakistan’s actions, stating that it was Pakistani provocations and escalations that have led to the current volatile situation. He emphasized that India has responded in a responsible and measured manner to these provocations, but the recent attacks by Pakistan demonstrate a clear pattern of escalation and provocation.

Indian Army Col. Sofiya Qureshi expressed concern over the forward movements of Pakistani troops, suggesting that it indicates an offensive intent to further escalate the conflict. She reassured that the Indian armed forces are on high alert and ready to counter any hostile actions effectively.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force refuted claims made by Pakistan that their strikes had caused damage to India’s military infrastructure. She also criticized Pakistan for spreading false information through a malicious misinformation campaign on social media, denying the alleged destruction of Indian military assets.

The ongoing cross-border fire and strikes between India and Pakistan have resulted in civilian casualties on both sides, escalating concerns about the potential for further violence and conflict. Tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations have been mounting since the April 22 attack on Hindu tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir, which India attributed to Pakistani-backed militants.

In response to the attack, India conducted strikes on Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, targeting what it described as “terrorist infrastructure.” Pakistan has denied any involvement in the incident and has retaliated by launching strikes on India and Indian-controlled Kashmir.
