Endico frozen vegetables sold in 6 states recalled due to possible listeria contamination
A recall has been issued for bags of frozen vegetables in six states and Washington, D.C., due to a risk of listeria contamination, according to federal officials. The affected products, Endico 2.5 lb bags of frozen peas and carrots and mixed vegetables, were distributed in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Florida, and Washington, D.C. between July 18 and Aug. 4, 2025. The recall notice was issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for products manufactured by Endico Potatoes Inc., based in Mount Vernon, New York.
The recalled products have the following lot codes:
- Peas and carrots: lot 110625, production date 6/11/25, use by date 6/10/27
- Mixed vegetables: lot 170625, production date 6/17/25, use by date 6/16/27
As of Thursday, no illnesses have been reported related to the recalled products. However, samples taken at a distributor in Pennsylvania tested positive for the bacteria listeria monocytogenes, prompting the recall.
Listeria monocytogenes can lead to severe and potentially fatal infections in vulnerable populations such as young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. In pregnant women, it can cause miscarriages and stillbirths. Symptoms of listeria infection in healthy individuals may include fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled frozen vegetables are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For any inquiries, customers can contact Endico at 1-800-431-1398.
