Singer D4vd considered suspect in investigation of teen found dead in his Tesla: Sources
The investigation into the death of a teenage girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to singer D4vd, has taken a new turn. D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is now a suspect in the case, as confirmed by sources to ABC News. The 15-year-old girl from Lake Elsinore in Riverside County had been reported missing last year, and her decomposing body was discovered in September.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of Celeste’s death. However, sources reveal that her body was dismembered, suggesting that more than one person may have been involved in the process. Investigators are in contact with individuals believed to have played a role in the case.
Authorities are awaiting the Medical Examiner’s findings, which will be crucial in making an arrest and determining charges. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far. Celeste may have been deceased for several weeks before her body was found.
The Tesla containing Celeste’s body was discovered in an impound lot in Hollywood after emitting a foul odor. The vehicle had been abandoned on a street in Hollywood before being towed to the lot. Police found the body in the front trunk of the Tesla, which was in an advanced state of decomposition.
David Anthony Burke, aka D4vd, who is the registered owner of the Tesla, is reportedly not cooperating with the investigation. His whereabouts and involvement in the case are under scrutiny. ABC News has reached out to D4vd’s representative and lawyer for comment but has not received a response.
Following the identification of Celeste’s body, a search was conducted at a Los Angeles residence where D4vd had been living. The singer, known for his popularity on TikTok with nearly 4 million followers, was on his “Withered” world tour when the incident occurred. Several tour dates, including shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles, were canceled, and shows in Europe have also been affected.
The release of the deluxe edition of D4vd’s debut album, “Romantic Homicide,” scheduled for September 19, has been paused. The singer’s career and personal life are now under intense scrutiny as the investigation into Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s tragic death continues.
