Iran says it fired missiles at USS Abraham Lincoln as Israel targets Tehran

Iran has reportedly fired cruise missiles in the direction of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, escalating tensions in the region. The missile attack, as claimed by the semiofficial Fars News Agency, forced the American naval fleet to change its position. This comes after Tehran’s military dismissed any talks of a peace agreement with the US.

The USS Abraham Lincoln has been stationed in the Arabian Sea as part of Operation Epic Fury, now entering its fourth week. President Trump revealed that Iran had shot 100 missiles at the aircraft carrier, but all of them were successfully intercepted. The missile launches followed Iran’s rejection of a 15-point peace plan proposed by the US through Pakistani intermediaries.

Iran’s military spokesperson, Lt. Col. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, declared that Tehran would never come to terms with Washington. He emphasized that Iran will not back down and viewed the US as a strategic failure. Meanwhile, the US demands on Iran include dismantling nuclear facilities, limiting missile programs, and cutting off funding for terrorist proxies.

In response to the escalating tensions, Israel launched waves of strikes targeting infrastructure of the Iranian regime in Tehran. The Israeli military also targeted military production sites in Isfahan, including facilities for building submarines and support systems for the Iranian navy. Israel claimed to have carried out over 15,000 strikes against Iran since the beginning of combat operations, significantly higher than previous conflicts.

The peace discussions between Iran and the US have not shown any signs of progress, with both sides presenting unrealistic demands. The situation remains volatile, with military actions continuing despite diplomatic efforts. The region is on edge as the standoff between Iran, the US, and Israel shows no signs of resolution.
