Brutal way Google’s Sergey Brin told Gavin Newsom he was ditching California

California Gov. Gavin Newsom apparently felt ill after learning that tech mogul Sergey Brin was leaving the state.

Brin, co-founder of Google and one of the wealthiest individuals in the world, informed Newsom of his departure at a treehouse party near San Francisco in December, as reported by Bloomberg. Brin cited concerns about a proposed billionaire tax in California that would significantly impact his $260 billion net worth.

Newsom, feeling “cold and hungry” at the event, engaged in a conversation with Brin and his partner, which reportedly left a lasting impact on the governor, who later complained of catching a “lingering cold” from the couple.

Since then, the billionaire tax proposal has sparked opposition from Silicon Valley’s affluent, including Brin, who has relocated to Nevada and invested millions in efforts to combat the tax initiative.

Newsom also opposes the tax, expressing concerns about its potential impact on innovation and the state budget.

The proposal has become a focal point in California’s political landscape, with figures like Tom Steyer campaigning in support of the tax, while Congressman Ro Khanna faces backlash for backing the initiative.

As the debate continues, Newsom remains determined to protect the state from what he views as a short-term solution to budget challenges.
