Banijay Expands Live Experience ‘Luminiscence’ to Hamburg
Banijay Germany is set to bring the captivating immersive experience of “Luminiscence” to Hamburg’s iconic St. Michaelis Church in partnership with French immersive producer Lotchi, the brains behind “Luminiscence” and a part of Banijay Live.
This marks Hamburg as the third German city, following Münster and Nuremberg, to host the mesmerizing experience, with the grand premiere scheduled for July 2. The transformation of St. Michaelis Church promises to create a breathtaking fusion of light, sound, and history, as described by Banijay.
Since its inception in 2023, “Luminiscence” has garnered over a million visitors globally, showcasing immersive productions in some of the world’s most exquisite cathedrals, churches, and historic sites across eight countries. The journey of “Luminiscence” has graced 20-plus cities, with nine productions currently captivating audiences.
While Banijay Group continues to thrive in TV content, the venture into live events and sports has proven to be a successful diversification strategy. The live experiences segment witnessed an impressive growth of 18.2% last year, solidifying Banijay’s presence in the entertainment landscape.
For the St. Michaelis installation, “Luminiscence” will utilize cutting-edge 360° projection technology, innovative lighting effects, original musical compositions, live performances, and the talents of local conductors, organists, and choirs. Among the featured artists are singer Lucia Duchoňová and organists Magne H. Draagen and Paul Fasang.
